Breathe in…

Breathe out…

Now, let out a big smile.

Let’s do it again. This time, close your eyes and take as long as you need. 😌

That’s it. Welcome to your moment of peace.

Take a break from the stress and overwhelming task of planning for the new year and thinking over the unachieved goals of the past year.

Yes, different content will be circulating, and various opportunities will be flying all over the internet. However, for this moment, let your heart and mind embrace a sense of calm.

This is not the season to consume every piece of information. Just take a breath and slow down.

In A Time Like This

Here is my recommendation for what you should do instead of worrying, consuming all information or feeling stuck.

Evaluation

As much as you want to start planning new goals, it is crucial to evaluate the past ones. The truth is, if you don’t take time to learn from or recognize what went wrong, you’ll likely repeat the same mistakes.

Take out your goals and plans from the past year. Sit with them and ask yourself:

  • What really happened?

  • Did I do well?

  • Did I achieve 50%, 60%, or 100%?

  • What were the challenges or problems?

Have an honest conversation with yourself. Then, decide what needs to change next year to maximize your results.

From this evaluation, you’ll know your next steps. Do you need to create new goals, refine the old ones, or simply tweak some processes?

Spell It Out

Whether you’re working with new goals or revising old ones, rewrite them—but don’t just write them down. Structure them in a way that brings them to life.

Take Rose, for example. After evaluating her goals, Rose realized she only achieved 30% of them due to indiscipline, lack of direction, and unclear priorities. Now, as she prepares her 2025 goals, here’s what she does:

  1. Categorize Life Segments: Rose organizes her goals into categories such as Finances, Relationships, Family, Business, and Spirituality.

  2. Identify Hindrances: For each category, she writes down obstacles. For instance, “I didn’t achieve this business growth because I wasn’t disciplined enough to follow the process.”

  3. Write Solutions: She lists solutions to overcome these challenges. For example, “To achieve my business goal in 2025, I will uninstall game apps and cut off sources of discouragement.”

  4. Create Accountability: Finally, Rose ensures accountability by finding a mentor or joining my accountability group.

  5. Set Structured Tasks: Create daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that align with your goals and keep you on track. Break larger goals into actionable steps that build momentum and ensure consistent progress.

Pray and Involve Your Maker🙏

True peace and clarity come from fellowship with God and involving Him in every plan. After evaluation and structuring, spend time in prayer to seek guidance and strength.
